Ella Briggs (she/her)

When it comes to LGBTQ issues within the youth, you do not have to look too far to find out who the activist is, It's the youth themselves. Ella Briggs is from East Hampton, Connecticut and is the first openly gay Kid governer. She is just 11 years old, a fifth grader. Ella told a story of when her teacher put her in the naughty chair for putting pants and a bowtie on her “female” gingerbread man. Since then Ella has been speaking out on how teachers can better educate their students about LGBTQIA.
